In the period from July to September 2014 in the South of Kazakhstan the weather was unusually hot and dry, which contributed to the emergence of forest and steppe fires in Almaty and Almaty region. Burundaiavia crew consisting of: pilot-in-command A. Chebotkin, co-pilot I. Karakulko, flight engineer S. Snissar took an active part in liquidation of forest fires in the foothills of Zailiyskiy Alatau, adjacent to Almaty city. In the period from July to August 2014 the crew to extinguish the fires was performed 39 flight hours and committed 71 drops by water discharge device with 3 tons of water each for fire hazards. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan appreciated the dedication and hard work of the crew and awarded all crew members with breast signs "FOR ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE RESCUE OPERATIONS."
In May 2014 the airline has successfully passed regulatory audit for compliance with international standard ISO 9001:2008. "Airline Burundaiavia" JSC has the certificate No: 12 100 38233 TMS issued May 04, 2013 from the Certification Board of TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH.
In May 2014 Burundaiavia helicopters started to provide forest firefighting services in Turkey under a long-term contract with Bordo Mimarlik.
In April 2014 the accuracy of the financial statements of "Airline Burundaiavia" for 2013 was confirmed, prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, by the independent auditor "KPMG Audit" LLP. Financial statements present fairly the financial position and results of operations and cash flows in accordance with international Financial Reporting Standards.
Airline "Burundaiavia" confirmed compliance with the certification requirements for operators of civil aircraft in the Republic of Kazakhstan and received the new Aircraft Operator Certificate No: KZ-01/001, was issued to the airline on March 14, 2014 by the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
